My Remote(s) Not Working/Short Range, what can be wrong?
1. Change your batteries
2. Codes may have been lost due to a power outage or power surge. Re-program your remote(s).
My Door only goes down part way, stops and goes back up and the door does not close. Lights on opener flashing?
1. Check photo eyes (small black boxes on the framing near the bottom of your garage door).
Make sure the lights are on in both eyes. If no lights are on, call for service.
2. If one photo eye light is on, but the other light is off, they have been knocked out of alignment. Take the photo eye with the light that is off and move it until the light comes on. If you move that one and still no light try moving the other side, it could have gotten hit. Make sure nothing obvious is in the way. Also check to make sure the vibration of the door does not make the photo eye go off again.
Why does my opener motor runs, but will not open or close the door.
Can you open and close the door manually? If so then your emergency release cord has been pulled. You need to reengage the opener. Follow the red cord up to the ceiling, push the clip back towards the back of the garage, you will hear it snap in place. If this does not solve your problem, give us a call.
Can we use are old track and springs?
Unfortunately the answer is no, we do not know the condition of your used parts therefore we would not be able to warranty those parts. Also, track and springs are not interchangeable. Springs are weighted for the weight of your new door.
Why do we need regular service?
Because your garage door has so many parts that can wear out and break over time it is recommended that you look over you door every 4 to 6 months. An annual visit from a trained technician is also recommended so that they can check your springs to make sure they are in balance. NEVER EVER TRY ADJUSTING THE SPRINGS BY YOUR SELF AS YOU CAN BE HURT OR EVEN KILLED.
What does the warranty cover?
Martin Door Manufacturing and Martin Garage Doors of Colorado, Inc. warranties the garage door and all its parts including the springs for a lifetime. That is the lifetime of your new garage door. Labor is cover on doors for 3 years and garage door openers for 1 year.
Can I install the garage door myself (for the do-it-yourself types)?
Installing a garage door can be very dangerous and is not recommended for a novice. DASMA (DASMA Door and Access Systems Manufacturers Association) recommends that trained door system technicians install garage doors. Also, per our GENERAL LIABILITY INSURANCE we are unable to sell a door without the installation.
Can I replace the springs myself?
Never try to replace or adjust garage door springs yourself. Garage door springs are under tension and can cause injury or death if you don't know what you are doing.

Do I have to replace both springs if only one is broken?
If one spring is obviously broken, the other spring is seeing wear as well and should be changed at the same time.
Does my new garage door need to have insulation?
It is up to you weather you get an insulated garage door or not, however the insulation does help with keeping your garage warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. Also if your garage is insulated we do recommend getting an insulated garage door.
I would like windows, but my kids like to you the garage door as a backstop.
Will the windows break easy?
Instead of glass Martin uses a safer Plexiglas called "Acrylite". It is resistant to rot and haze from the sun and is many times stronger than glass. Optional Tinted or pebbled. The frames are painted (2 coats) to match door color.

Why does my opener light does not come on when door opens?
You may have a burned out bulb or bad light socket on the opener.
Why doesn't my opener light go off after the delay period?
Is the work light switch on? Is the photo eye beam being tripped by someone or something passing in front of it? If none of the above solves your problem, give us a call.
Why won't my keypad open the door?
When you open the keypad does the light come on? If not change the batteries. If it still won't open the door try reprogramming the keypad. If these do not solve your problem, give us a call.
Why can I only open and close my door with the inside wall button? My remotes and outside keypad do not work.
Is your lock button on? Move the lock button from on side to the other. If this does not solve your problem, give us a call.

Why do I need to worry about finger injuries from a garage door when I plan to have a garage door opener installed with my new door?
A study by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission found over 68,000 serious finger injuries resulted from a person mistakenly placing his/her fingers in the wrong place on a garage door. Further studies showed that 85-90% of those injuries took place on garage doors that had a garage door opener that had failed due to power outages, defects, misaligned eye-beams, etc.
